State of the Art Wrapping Hack

It's a commonly accepted fact that tape is an essential part of in the engulfing of gifts in paper. This being the time of year when everyone is wrapping up something special, I thought I'd drop in and give you a fantastic way to up your wrapping game.

As I said, tape is the normal go to for presents, I, however, do not have tape (Well, I do have tape but it's duct tape and it's set aside for another project [which will be airing shortly, maybe]), so I was left to use the next best thing…

Any guesses before I reveal my secret?

If you guessed hot glue, way to go, you've got a great imagination. If you guessed anything else let me know what it was. Honestly, you probably came up with something way more imaginative than a hot glue gun so be proud of yourself.

Using hot glue to wrap presents is basically the same as if you were using tape. Wrap the object in a tube, dash some glue along the edge, and fold the ends in like so.

Lightly glue those edges and voila. Perfect wrap job.

To help (and because I was pretty bored) I made an incredibly unhelpful, helpful video.

Hopefully that helped you.

I really need to plan ahead and not write labels on stuff before I take pictures of it

As you have likely noticed by this point, I don't have any traditional wrapping paper. This was some packing material I got in a recent package from Genova Diagnostics.

Personally, I think that the hot glue adds a nice touch. There's no tape to be seen. All the edges are super crisp and clean and professional looking. If you use this for all your holiday wrapping this year let me know how it goes. If not, I won't hold it against you.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a happy time wrapping presents.
